Port Shepstone Country Club
API was proud to have been one of the sponsors of an important event held at Port Shepstone
Country Club.
Peter Stoppel is a local South Coast attorney, based in Port Shepstone and has been a member of the Post Shepstone Country Club for many years. He is also an active member of the community and the local Port Shepstone Lions’ Club and has roots deeply entrenched in the club and its history.
Peter was recently admitted for a complication on one of his toes and while in hospital, he had numerous health setbacks. A certain virus attacked his organs and his health deteriorated to a stage where he was placed in an induced coma.
To assist the Stoppel family with their financial burden, the Port Shepstone Country Club members, led by Debbie Stewart, arrange a sponsored day to raise some much-needed funds. The day consisted of a golf day, a bowls day, various fun auctions, and other raffles.
API came on board as one of the sponsors to the bowls day. A decent field of about 50 players entered the competition and a lot of fun was had by all. At the end of the day’s festivities, all the winners decided unanimously to donate all their winnings and entry fees to the cause.
We haven’t confirmed numbers yet as there are still some pledges outstanding, but the estimate amount raised so far is in excess of R65,000.
The club president as well as the bowling section chairman thanked API for their generous sponsorship towards the day.
